SLS technology melts the special additives into the binder by laser irradiation of the material powder. Using a high power laser to scan the powder to melts the special additives of material powders to achieve the function of binder. In this way to form the first basic layer of the part. And then use the way method to scan and form the second layer and adjoins it to the previous layer, finally to make a solid part.
Compared with SLA process, SLS don’t need to make support structure, the powder is strong enough to replace the support structure during formation. It is suitable for complicate geometry parts, if you need to develop testing and manufacturing your project, SLS is a good choice.
This manufacturing technology can be used both for rapid prototyping and production. Shortly manufacture time is one of the biggest advantage of SLS process. The traditional process such as injection molding and vc process cannot compete with SLS process.
